Year 6 pupils compete at the Indoor Primary School Athletics - 14/02/2018

On Wednesday 31st January, children from University Church Free School (UCFS) took part in the Indoor Primary School Athletics event, held at the Ellesmere Port Sports Village (EPSV).

Twelve pupils from Years 5 and 6 were welcomed to the event by organisers from Community and Educational Physical Development (CEPD). CEPD aims to provide high quality advice, lessons and coaching to schools through stimulating and well organised lessons. The sessions ensure that the children are able to experience many different sporting activities, work together as a team and get active.

The athletics tournament consisted of 4x1 hurdle relays, 1+1 lap race, 2+2 lap race, a 6 lap paarlauf, 4x1 lap relay, chest push, soft javelin, standing long jump, vertical high jump and speed bounce.

Mrs Cowley, Teacher said: “I am very proud of all the children who took part in this event, they competed amazingly well.”

Lily, Year 6 pupil said: “The atmosphere was brilliant! We all tried our best and we worked really well together as a team!”
