Reception pupils visit Broomheath Plantation - Forest Schools - 21/11/2017

On Friday 17th November, pupils from our Reception Class at University Church Free School (UCFS) went on a Forest Schools adventure to Broomheath Plantation.

Forest Schools is an innovative educational approach to outdoor learning and play. At Broomheath Plantation, pupils went on a dragon hunt, created artwork using natural materials found in the forest and created their own leaf puppets.

The class also choose the school’s Christmas Tree for this year. They finished the day with roasted marshmallows that were enjoyed with hot chocolate around the fire.

Class Teacher, Mrs Sykes said: “We had a fantastic day exploring and learning outside of the classroom.”

Pupil, Local said: “The marshmallows and hot chocolate were yummy, I loved finding the dragons.
