Pupils enjoy action packed Sports Day at the University of Chester - 20/06/2018

On Wednesday 13th June, the children from University Church Free School (UCFS) showcased their abilities on the athletics track for an action packed Sports Day at the University of Chester.

From the traditional egg-and-spoon race to bean bag balancing, the children showed exceptional sportsmanship when competing against their peers in the sprint race, hurdle race, the egg-and-spoon race and the bean bag balance.

Teamwork was a key value throughout the day as we saw representatives from each of the four houses - Apollo, Janus, Fortuna and Minerva compete to win first place.

Mrs Cowley, Teacher at UCFS said: “What a wonderful day, the children at UCFS are so supportive and it is a pleasure to watch them cheer each other on.” Mrs Foulkes added: “I loved it, and Janus won!”

Ted, pupil in Year 3 said: “Wow, it was amazing; did you see how fast the reception children could run!”

Jack M in Year 5 added: “I did not come first, but it was so much fun to take part!”

The winning team was Janus, the red team.
